With all the talk of the Air Yeezy, the RT-1 is continually proving its point as it is no slouch as a newcomer to the shoe game. Nike plans to release an additional two colorways white/green mist and white/purple to the calendar this year. We now have also learned that Urban Sportswear Design Director, Mark Dolce was the man behind this Air Trainer 1 inspired kick.

To coincide with some of their upcoming retro releases, Jordan Brand has put together the Legendary LS apparel collection. At first glance, it is apparent that Max Orange and Grey will play a big part in this year’s retro campaign. The collection features these colors or a combination of the two on many of its pieces. Two crewnecks, two full-zip hoodies and two 1/2-zip anoraks are the highlights of the collection, but the other items are not to be overlooked. A blue elephant skin print jacket and traditional grey/black elephant wallet are also included, as well as the new “A Love Story” t-shirt in both black and white. The Smithsonian in D.C. has asked Aretha Franklin if she would part with her famous Luke Song hat to be part of President Obama’s Inaugural display. The display will also include Michella Obama's ball gown.
But the Queen of Soul is hesitant, saying, "I am considering it. It would be hard to part with my chapeau since it was such a crowning moment in history. I would like to smile every time I look back at it and remember what a great moment it was in American and African-American history."

Last year Nike brought back a number of classics, but 2009 is filled with many greats making a return as well. Nike made a major push after the baseball market in the mid-90’s with a number of campaigns involving Ken Griffey, Jr.
Griffey wore a number of Nike cross trainers and cleats over his young career, but in 1996, Nike blessed him with his first signature shoe, the Nike Air Griffey Max.

A short while back, the above Air Max 1 was posted without a release date but they’ve finally started to hit retailers including nikestore. The shoe features a black out-sole, white mid-sole and red being visible in the Nike Air bubble. Along the upper, you can see there are some very nice uses of black and red in the form of red felt as well as a black nylon mesh toe-box. An added patent leather swoosh tops everything off, making this a definite good look for all you Air Max fans. Look for this colorway at Nike retailers now including nikestore.com.

After the frenzy of postings about Louis Vuitton’s latest collaboration with Kanye West last week at Milan, some more photos have been released to give us a more complete look on the collection. Aside from the initial red on red colorway, 2 more colorways - in neutral and black, are also available from the collection. Each is a compilation of premium leather, suede, and vulcanized rubber, with the distinctive over size heel collar at ankle. When you look at the above picture, you may wonder what is off with the classic Air Jordan VI in the saught after infrared colorway that dropped almost a decade ago as a retro. Well, everything is pretty standard as far as the all black, nubuck upper and icy sole as well as the colorway, but on the mid-sole the colors are actually reversed. Along with the colors being switched up on the mid-sole, the “Nike Air” on the heel is colored in with infrared as opposed to how it was released, in black. You will most likely NEVER see another pair of these again, so if you have a couple grand laying around, head over to Ebay and try your luck as these are already bid up to $5,000+. This Air Force 1 Supreme “Huarache” has been talked about for a couple months now since pictures first surfaced of it months ago from a Mom & Pop shop in New York. Since then we have seen a few higher quality pictures of the Air Force 1 that is inspired from the original Nike Huarache collection designed by Tinker Hatfield. And now it’s time to give you a detailed look at these Supreme AF1’s, scheduled to drop in a few months. This AF1 features an all White upper that uses a rich premium leather with the Nike Air logo lasered in the heel but the best part about these shoes is the Ice midsole and outsole that really gives the shoes a personality of it’s own. In order to show that the shoe’s inspiration came from the Nike Huarache lineage of sneakers the Air Force 1’s tongue was changed up a little bit to resemble some of the original Nike Huarache sneaker shoe tongues. Look for these to drop at select Nike Sportswear doors in the upcoming months.

hey whatsup everybody i figured id set things off with an artist who has really caught my ear as of late his mixtape "colin munroe is the unsung hero" is in heavy rotation in my ipod. Im sure alot of you have never heard of him, but im sure after hearing his mixtape you'll be fans just like me.

His unique fusion of gritty hiphop beats and soft melodic tones is really something refreshing. He inlisted some of the neo-backpacker/"underground"...(i hate that term)/"hipster rap"...(i hate that term even more) favorites to come and bless the mic on the majority of the records on the mixtape i.e(Mickey Factz,Wale, Skyzoo, Novel ,etc) ...(my favorite being the one with canada MC Drake)...i can honestly say that with this mixtape i can listen to it straight through and not skip a song.....remember those days???
